LEARNING GOLF: PRACTICE GOLF BALLS OFFER NEW OPPORTUNITIES

GOLF EDUCATION MADE EASY FOR EVERYONE
I wanted to meet with the folks at almostGOLF...I had been using them in the backyard and, to my wife's consternation, in the family room. How does a little practice golf ball get marketed globally? A coup for the company was to get noted golf instructor and short game guru, Dave Pelz involved. "There are no more excuses for not practicing." Said Pelz, who uses them in his school. Tory Upham of Edwin Watts golf said, "We have the almostGOLF balls in all five of our Massachusetts locations. It is an innovative, fun and effective way to stay on top of your game right in your backyard."

TEACHING NOVICE GOLFERS

NOVICE GOLFERS: NCRD and WESCOTT PLANTATION GOLF CLUB CREATE JUNIOR GOLF PROGRAM THAT HAS THE KIDS COMING BACK FOR MORE:
Wescott Plantation golf pro Perry Green helped the North Charleston Recreation Department to introduce a new off-course golf program that visits recreation centers during the summer to introduce kids to the game of golf. In conjunction with the Golf Club of Wescott Plantation, they added the summer pilot program and it has taken off beyond expectation. " I was thinking we'd start with 20-25 kids and it would dwindle back down to four ow five" NCRD athletic director Rufus McDonald said. "Instead, we have them wanting to come back every day."

GOLF DIGEST

davidowencover.jpg THE MAN ABOUT TOWN: By David Owen
Mower-free advice for working in the yard. Unlike David Toms in that PGA Tour commercial, I  don’t hit shots at my house on purpose. Accidents happen, though. I’ve broken nearly every window and cracked the windshield of my wife’s car. To maintain domestic peace, I tried many alternatives to real golf balls. Recently, I found something much better. It’s a resilient practice ball made by a company called almostGolf.

WALL STREET JOURNAL

Golfers love gadgets and they are constantly on the lookout for anything that can improve their game, even if ever so slightly. The Point3 golf ball- made by almostGOLF- is soft enough to be used in backyards or for pitching practice into, say, a bedroom curtain for those truly golf-obsessed.

There is no way a hollow plastic golf ball can give you a true feedback on a golf shot. However, the new Point3 golf ball has a solid core, internal pressure and is perfectly weighed to travel, spin and fly limited distance.
